 18th annual Great Salt Lake Bird Festival

May 12-16, 2016

Farmington, UtahFarmington, UT        Great Salt Lake Bird Festival is

excited to announce the 2016 Keynote Speaker for May 14, 2016 is

 renowned nature artist and writer Julie Zickefoose.  To add to the fun,

James Currie from BirdingAdventures TV will be our Special Guest.

 Julie Zickefoose began illustrating natural history subjects as a college freshman in 1976.  She began to write essays of her observations of birds and animals and writing crept into the forefront of her interests. Bird Watcher’s Digest has been the major print venue for her writing since 1986, and she’s painted 27 covers for the magazine. She is the author of, Letters from Eden (2006) and The Bluebird Effect: Uncommon Bonds with Common Birds (2012).  Julie and her family live in an Ohio ranch house topped by a 42 foot tall birdwatching tower.  Special Guest James Currie is a birding expert, conservation advocate, and host of Nikon’s Birding Adventures TV and Nat Geo Wild’s Aerial Assassins. He was born, raised, and worked in Cape Town, South Africa. James and his family have lived in Florida since 2007.

 In addition to giving the Keynote address, Julie will also guide a fieldtrip, offer a workshop and book signings and is providing cover art for the program.  James will participate in fieldtrips and offer a workshop and a family presentation.
